The Women’s Media Group, a New York City-based non-profit organization, is offering several internships during the summer of 2006 for minority women who are presently juniors in college. These paid positions are approximately eight weeks in length. The internships will be with national magazines, book publishing houses, and broadcast networks. (Last year, we placed interns with Time Inc., Conde Nast, Bloomberg Financial News, NBC, and Random House, Inc., among others.)
Housing is not provided and all applicants must be able to secure their own accommodations in the New York City area.
All interested applicants should contact us by email no later than Monday, March 13. We will conduct interviews over the phone or in person during the months of February and March. Applicants will be informed of decisions on a rolling basis. Your application should include a resume and a detailed cover letter telling us about yourself, your college studies, and why you are interested in an internship in book publishing, magazine publishing, or broadcast media. Please note that your cover letter should address one of these areas specificallya general interest in “media” is not sufficient for consideration.
